Stunning Shamanic Rattle with Triquetra, Amethyst, Mugwort and Birch wood handle handcrafted by us in our rural workshop. The bowl of this rattle is hand sewn and filled with Amethyst for higher consciousness and Mugwort for dreamtime and divine feminine connection. We have painted a Triquetra on one side and a feather on the other. 
Birch has a very female energy and is considered to be a Goddess tree, the symbol of summer ever-returning. Known as the “giving tree” birch contains the essence of truth and birth. 
Birch gives the essence of truth and in Druid and Celtic mythologies Birch is valued as the tree of inception and beginnings.  Birch is also a wood with great powers to purify and discipline. It is is associated with the element of water and is a tree of the sun and the planet Venus. Birch is a sacred Celtic tree and governs the time from 24th December to 20th January. It is one of the first trees to naturally establish in cleared forests and the Druids associated this wood with the white stag.
Birch being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Birch Ogham (beith) onto the piece for added protection and energy.
The Triquetra also called the Trinity Knot, is an ancient symbol sacred to many cultures. For some it is symbolic of the threefold nature of the Goddess as mother, maiden and crone, it is also representative of the forces of nature (earth, fire and water) and the three interlocking circles are symbolic of female fertility. 
According to the Celts, the most important things in the world came in threes; three domains (earth, sea and sky), three elements, three stages of life etc. It is also possible that the Triquetra signified the lunar and solar phases. During excavations of various archaeological sites from the Celtic era, a number of Trinity knot symbols have been found alongside solar and lunar symbols.
We have decorated the handle with a spiral vine and it has been finished with a little of our homemade lavender, beeswax and olive oil polish for protection, recycled leather fringe trim, cruelty free naturally molted feathers and vintage beads. Approx 36cm / 14" length.
Shamanic Rattles are the voices of our ancestors and spirits who come to help the healing process. They are vessels for magic and sacred items and carry the energy of rain and water within them. When you use a rattle to clear energy or a space the vibration and sound takes on the energy of water as it flows around and washes over you gently cleansing and refreshing your aura and energy as though standing under a waterfall
Shamanic Rattles can be used for healing, clearing, raising vibration and just for the joy their wonderful resonance brings to the soul. 
We are very mindful to pay our respects to the animals spirit and ask for its blessing as it is reborn as a wonderful sacred object. Our rattles are made using goat hide which brings with it the spirit of this confident and balanced creature.
