Lovely altar piece made from Devon Oak wood. Oak symbolises strength, truth, protection, authority, prosperity and bravery
Oak is one of the most sacred trees. It carries the energy of kingship and wise rule, personal sovereignty, authority, power, protection, sealing or opening doors, endurance, and invocation of wisdom, fertility, and abundance. The Druids associated the oak with the Wren. Closely aligned with the elements Earth, Water, and Spirit, the Oak is considered to be the most powerful and the most sacred to the Druids. Wizards consider this the most amplified wood to use in spells that work with time and counter spells. Oak wands bring vitality and long life. Oak magic inspires bravery, presence, leadership skills, prosperity, and strength “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow” goes the quote. This tree inspires us to be strong in body, mind and spirit. It is a sacred and revered tree representing endurance, power, protection and authority.
Oak being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Ogham symbol of duir on the wand for extra energy and protection.
It's a good chunky slice of wood, featuring a wonderful Three Hares design burnt into it. This would make a wonderful addition to your altar, meditation space or a gift. The piece has then been lightly waxed with our own natural beeswax, olive oil and lavender hand-blended wax and given a little polish. Approx size 13cm / 5".
The three hares image is found all over the world and on many sacred and religious buildings. Very little is known about it's origins, but is thought to represent similar symbolism to the triquetra and triskele symbols and has been adapted to represent the trinity. It can be seen on the churches of Devon, England where they are known as the "Tinners' Rabbits".
