Beautiful, heavy and substantial Sapele wood night light holder with Vegvísir Symbol, additional protection and sky god runes, alchemical symbols and the four directions also in runes. Sapele wood supports spirituality, healing & growth. Placing a light at the centre of the design not only creates beauty but also heightens the strength of the symbols making the object a potent ritual aid. 
The Vegvisir is a Norse protection symbol, often called the Viking Compass or Runic Compass. It is a guidepost or direction sign for those journeying and can be found among other places in the 17th century Icelandic grimoire called Galdrabók (‘magic book’). Vegvísir was drawn on one’s forehead with blood to prevent a person from getting lost. 
The piece has been lightly waxed with our own natural beeswax, olive oil and lavender hand-blended wax and given a little polish. Size approx 4.5cm/1.75" high and width 15cm / 5.95".
