These lovely pieces are made from sections of locally found wood. They are nice small and tactile slices of wood with their natural edge and a little bark left on. They feature a wonderful Helm of Awe symbol burnt into them and they would make a wonderful addition to your altar, meditation space or a gift. Each piece has then been lightly waxed with our own natural beeswax, olive oil and lavender hand-blended wax and given a little polish. Approx size  2cm / 2.5"wide
The Helm of Awe often called “Algiz" is a rune based symbol. The meaning of the runes in this symbol are all about protection, prevailing over one's enemies and suppressing the fear of one’s own mind. The Norse (particularly women) would draw this symbol between their eyes on their forehead and it was often inscribed with either blood or spit. They were also popularly drawn on the inside of helmets.
