Beautiful and tactile English Birch Wood Leaf Amulet Charm for Good Luck. The expression ‘touch wood’ comes from the ancient pagan belief that trees are sentient beings and that the spirits or dryads that dwell within them hold the power to keep us safe from harm. When we say our hopes or wishes out loud, we say touch wood and look for a piece of wood to place our hands upon to show our respect for the tree spirits, ask them to hear our plea and look kindly upon us.
This beautiful little Leaf represents connection to ours and natures rhythms. We have added vintage beads and the piece has been sanded so the surface is smooth and then lightly waxed with natural wax. It is strung with onto an adjustable cord, so it can be put over your head and adjusted to you desired length.
Birch has a very female energy and is considered to be a Goddess tree, the symbol of summer ever-returning. Known as the “giving tree” birch contains the essence of truth and birth. 
Birch gives the essence of truth and in Druid and Celtic mythologies Birch is valued as the tree of inception and beginnings.  Birch is also a wood with great powers to purify and discipline. It is is associated with the element of water and is a tree of the sun and the planet Venus. Birch is a sacred Celtic tree and governs the time from 24th December to 20th January. It is one of the first trees to naturally establish in cleared forests and the Druids associated this wood with the white stag.
Birch being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Birch Ogham (beith) onto the piece for added protection and energy.
