This beautiful Ceremonial Smudge Fan has been lovingly created from Hazel wood and naturally moulted cruelty free feathers. Each fan is handcrafted intuitively using a combination of materials that are called together and this particular fan is approx 32cm / 13" long and includes a variety of feathers on a Hazel wood handle with a hand bound wire cuff, sun/moon charm and recycled leather fringe. We've added a spiral vine for extra energy and the piece has been finished with our homemade beeswax, olive oil and cedarwood polish.
Hazel brings love and creativity allowing a person to move beyond self-serving modes of existence. Hazel is the bringer of change. Hazel also promotes creative expression, eloquence, and art of all types. This was the most common wood used to create wands in the ancient Celtic traditions. Also used in magic spells for wisdom, creativity and intelligence. 
Hazel being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Ogham symbol of coll on the piece for extra energy and protection.  
We collect native feathers whenever we find them, collect the fallen ones from our friends pet Guinea foul and Peacocks and also source them from an ornithologist friend who spends most of his time in nature and helping with rescue and conservation projects. All the feathers are naturally moulted, not plucked from birds reared for food or shot for conservation purposes. Having these beautiful sacred objects knowing in our hearts that no creatures have been harmed is something which is very important to us.
