This stunning athame or ritual knife has been lovingly crafted from Devon Hazel wood from our own ancient woodland and an upcycled vintage silver plated fish knife. Ideal for rituals and ceremonial use or as decoration on your altar. Many people choose to use an athame instead of a wand for some ceremonies.
We were drawn to decorate this athame with a Peacock feather, wind symbols and the alchemical symbol for Air to bring with it the energy of blowing away the old and bringing in the new and the reminder to listen to the wind!
Hazel being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Ogham symbol of coll onto the piece for extra energy and protection.
Hazel is one of the very oldest British native trees. Traces of hazel nut shells and pollen have been discovered in cave settlements, dating from around 10,000 years ago. The tree is associated with the Goddess Brighid, goddess of wisdom and divine inspiration and Hazel traditionally symbolises and encourages artistic ability, optimism, love and inspiration.
The athame has then been lightly waxed with our own natural beeswax, olive oil and lavender hand-blended wax and given a little polish. Size approx length 24cm / 9.5".
All our handcrafted items are created and infused with love, positive intentions and a little magic )0(
